Spend enough time writing in a journal and you'll probably find yourself hunting down a pen now and then.
That's why some journal covers come with pen holders. But if your journal or cover doesn't have one, and you wish it did, this clever, compact design from Power Design of Japan may work for you.
It's simple to the point where one may ask "why didn't I think of that?", and in fact, many of you have probably come up with a similar home-grown solution already.
The holder is made of plastic, and comes die-cut in a plastic card. You just push it out of the card, unpeel the strip of paper from the adhesive backing, and stick it on your notebook. Then you slide the pen and clip into the holder (your pen MUST have a clip for this to work).
Once pressed on, it is PERMANENTLY attached to your notebook. You could try to peel it off, but it make take a layer of paper with it...hence:
HACK FOR HOLD-ON PEN HOLDER (please see pictures)
If you want a non-permanent attachment, you can use a Post-It plastic tab in-between the holder and your notebook's cover (see pics - we suggest the long, thick tabs). Simply stick the Post-It tab to your notebook's cover, then stick the Hold-On to the Post-It tab. Thus, the Hold-On never actually touches the notebook itself (but be sure to rub off any glue that does is not covered by the Post-It tab).
The Post-It tab adhesive is very strong (much stronger than Post-It notes), yet you can still peel and stick it again. Thus, you can move it from notebook to notebook.
Besides the Post-It tab method, you can also use Scotch Restickable Tabs (see pics). There is adhesive on both sides of the Restickable Tab, so you can rub off all of the glue from the Hold-On holder, stick the square into your notebook, then stick the Hold-On onto the square. Easy as pie.

Very simple design that works well -- time will tell how strong the adhesive is that holds the holder to the back of the journal. Highly recommend.

This pen holder is great when attached to your notebook because it lets you keep your pen with you. I'm always loosing my pens, no more! Great product.
