Ink Blotter Paper A5 - 10 Sheets

Calculated at checkout

Note: We used to offer these is 6x9 size, but they are now being cut at the same time as our A5 Seven Seas journals. Thus the Seven Seas journals purchased through us include this identical size. We have also lowered the price a bit, due the the higher volume we are now able to purchase.

What kind of paper is admired for its rough surface, excessive feathering and massive bleed-through? Why, blotter paper, of course!

Blotter paper will save you a lot of time when waiting for inks to dry on very smooth and slick papers. Actually, it doesn't make the ink "dry" faster - it just soaks up the excess. It's especially useful when you are writing in a pad and want to flip the sheet over to use the other side, or when writing in a journal and want to turn immediately to the next page. Simply close the book on top of this sheet, leave it there momentarily (perhaps one second), and the page will be as good as dry. It's handy to use as a book mark too.

One of the pics shows the word "blotter" written several times on a sheet of Tomoe River paper. As you can see, the bottom of the blotter sheet absorbed more ink than the top. This is because I wrote the words in succession and the bottom didn't have much time to dry before I pressed the blotter onto the sheet.

Another pic shows three dots of ink on the right and left sides of a strip of blotter paper. The left dots were dripped right onto the paper and were absorbed VERY quickly. The right dots were dripped on the OPPOSITE side of the paper. So, as you can see, the blotter paper just drinks up ink until it is fully absorbed. This is an extreme situation that you are unlikely to encounter with regular ol' writing, but it does demonstrate how efficient this paper is.

One sheet can be used over and over and on both sides, so the 10 sheets included in each pack will last you a long, long time.

Note that we used to sell this same blotter paper in sizes A4, B5 and A5. Since no one really blots an entire page at a time, and rather just works small sections or just the last-to-dry bottom of the page, we decided to offer one size only and reduce the cost per sheet. So, each sheet measures 148 x 210mm or about 5.8 x 8.3 in, which is the same dimensions as our Seven Seas A5 journals. At less than 5 bucks a pack, this is the best blotter paper value on the internet - nearly half the cost of other brands because we buy in a huge quantity.

This stuff works great. Never a smudge when I lay it over wet ink.

Have not found any other source for A5 or larger sheets, unless I wanted to buy $50 worth. Wanted a replacement for the blotter sheet that comes with the Seven Seas Crossfield-this will work perfectly.

  3. Handy to have on hand 5 Star Review

The ink blotters come in very handy. I keep one in my Seven Seas writer, and cut them down to size for other pocket notebooks etc.

  4. Right size, works well 5 Star Review

The A5 size for blotting paper is not widely available and is very nice to have with an A5 notebook using Tomoe River paper. I have made large spills that the blotting paper handled with ease and when I use a very wet pen and slow drying ink it is nice to just be able to blot a whole page in one move. Highly recommended.

  6. Wonderful Blotter Pape 5 Star Review

I've been using J. Herbin blotter paper. These are larger sheets and better suited to larger notebooks and other applications. They work just great, as well as any other I've seen. Thin, can be cut to fit pocket notebooks, rocker blotters, etc. Glad I found these, but they will probably last for years of use, unless I give them as gifts! I recommend these highly.

  7. in 50 years of blotting paper use, this is simply THE BEST. 5 Star Review

yes, it is thin and blots right through to the other side, BUT for someone who uses flexible nibbed fountain pens that sometimes lay down way too much ink i have not found another blotter paper that so quickly absorbs, blots, dries my puddled letters without Rorshaching them.

  8. Perfect Blotting 5 Star Review

This blotter paper is great. It comes with a number of products but I love having my own stash of sheets. I cut them to an appropriate size for what I need to blot and stash them in the pages of the books that I use them in. This is a great utility to have if you work with liquid ink in your writing. And it opens the doors to things I would not otherwise do, like using dip pens in a journal or planner.

  9. Fine product 5 Star Review

This product works as intended. It is not spectacular, as it is just blotting paper, but it is seriously useful on the go when you need to close your notebook and your ink has not dried yet.

Especially useful on pens that put more ink on the page, such as broader nibs or juicy nibs.

I Nanami sold this paper in other colors, but pink is not bad.
