This Marumono pad caught our eyes right away. It's very handy for taking notes while walking around, and its flip-top cover will protect the paper while you're not writing in it.

The entire pad is a standard A6 size and easy to hold in the hand. The sheet size when removed is 136x105mm. The grid, which is on both sides, is a pleasant light-gray 5mm spacing.

Note: This pad will make a great companion to your Hobonichi Techou, if you use one. The rounded corners are a nice touch.

Specifications:

105x148mm, sheet size when removed 136x105mm

5mm gray grid on both sides of sheet

60 sheets

  1. Fantastic product - my now-favorite pocket pad 5 Star Review

I've tried many A6 and similar sized pads but I prefer almost everything about this over the others.

The paper takes ink beautifully, the graph paper is such that you can easily use the pad horizontally or vertically, the perforation creates an easy and clean break, and if you have several pages you're not willing to tear away above what you're writing on, they fold out of the way easily (and the cover easily stays open) and don't seem to weaken at their perforated spot. The way it opens helps make this pad feel like it's larger than its size would indicate.

I will happily be stocking up on this pad the next time I place an order.

  2. nifty notepad, packs a wallop from its dainty A6 size 5 Star Review

This is my first review on Nanami though I've been shopping here regularly for the past year. Usually, other customers have opined well on my new beloved item and I allowed those comments to speak for me.

But this Marumono Paper Flip Pad is really something special. Others have rightly mentioned the crispness of the paper, the joy of laying down ink on its surface -- smooth but . . . that extra bit of tooth. I'd also add that despite the light gray grid, the paper is a bright white and I find that ink, in all its saturated glory, looks glorious there too!

Lastly, my primary reason for commenting is to register my vote for this same paper in a pad of a larger size, at least A5 if not B5. I like using the pad so much that I write A5 or B5 equivalents of text on its more diminutive pages which is why I'm back on the site to order a few more pads!!

  3. An excellent little notepad 5 Star Review

I have been very pleased with this little tablet. It takes ink very well, even with a Desiderata Daedalus adjusted to put down a LOT of ink. No feathering, no bleed-through, and not enough show-through to worry about.
I'm not usually a fan of graph paper, but the printing on this is very fine register and well done. The fact that the edges of the paper are aligned with edges of graph squares, rather than cutting through graph squares, means a lot to a tidy-paper-obsessed soul like me.
The paper is not glassy smooth, but has a little tooth.
Plus, the customer service from Nanami is very good. There was a minor problem with my order, and Dave fixed it promptly.

  4. Lovely paper, and a beautiful product 5 Star Review

This is a gorgeous little notepad, very refined an professional-looking. The paper is superb with the fountain pens/inks I've tried, and it doesn't have the odd slickness of Rhodia. I plan on using this paper for letter-writing :) (Such a great price, too!)
