Here it is - the Tajima Carpenter pencil, made by Tajima Tool of Japan! Just look at that gold tip. It brings back memories of the Testors gold paint from every kid's model painting days. The rest of the body is covered in a rich black enamel. This is a very high quality pencil and is beautiful. I don't even want to sharpen it.
There are 6 pencils in each box.

The photos really don't do these pencils justice. The black enamel coating is sleek and even, with gold lettering as precise as that on Tombow Mono 100s. All 6 pencils were straight, and with lead centered perfectly.
When sharpened, these smell exactly like Ticonderoga No.2 pencils, but subtle enough that I didn't notice until holding the pencil to my nose.
If you're anything like me, and woodcase pencils are your go-to writing instrument, then these are a must have. On thinner paper like the Maruzen 6000 writing tablets, they were noticeably smoother than a Tombow 9800 HB, Tombow Mono 100 F, Hi-Uni F, and Mitsubishi 9850 HB.
Very pleasant surprise, and I just may have to get another pack to stash away for later.
