Takahashi No. 50 Professional Planner 2020

Please note that this is the 2020 version, even though the pictures show a past year!

This is basically a smaller version of the Takahashi No. 102 featured on the Cafe B6 page. Its dimensions are close to the A6.

Takahashi Books is one of the most well-known planner brands in Japan. Nearly every stationery shop, larger or small, will have at least a few versions. The mega stores like Maruzen and Itoya carry the entire line, which requires a big display by itself.

This No. 50 has a clean, simple layout for all views (see pics). It also has a habit tracker, which is a rare find in a planner. Size-wise it's a perfect companion for the Cafe Note A6. Thus, if you're interested in a planner for planning and a notebook for note-taking, this Takahashi No. 50 and Cafe Note A6 is an ideal combination.

The paper, which is a proprietary formula used only by Takahashi (yes, they are THAT big), is also very very good. For fountain pens, it's not quite as compatible as Tomoe River, but if you have the type of job or life where things are constantly in flux, you probably use a pencil or Frixion pen anyway. Plus the paper is a bit thicker than Tomoe River and lends itself well to constant writing, erasing and re-writing. This is, in short, a serious tool for little else but planning, and here at nanamipaper.com, we like serious tools.

Perfect A6 compact carry for planning. Various yearly, monthly layouts with horizontal weeks in 3-column format. Some lined and grid notes pages. Paper is smooth, some shadow with fav pens but no bleed through. Separate insert for contacts/notes-nice surprise! New favorite.

  2. Terrific pocket-size planner 5 Star Review

I am glad that I slightly-impulsively purchased this planner last time I was on your site! It is slightly smaller than A6 yet combines a very convenient weekly view on one page, space for short notes or lists on the opposite page, months (one page each) with one-day-per-line (not squares) which allows for a preview of birthdays and appointments, AND a "tracker" month view which works for habit tracking, expenses, hours worked... whatever is needed. The size, included cover, ribbon bookmarks, are all just right. What a delightful purchase! I hope you will carry for 2021.

I am so happy with this planner. I love the layout, and the size is perfect. It fits perfectly in my A6 travelers notebook. This is planner peace for me. I hope this is available next year. I don’t often find exactly what I need. This little planner checks all the boxes.

  4. Perfectly compact and great quality paper 5 Star Review

I love my new planner. Like the reviewer before me I also switched from Hobo Weeks and I am loving the new layout in this one! I'm really appreciating the thicker paper and the size is perfect to carry around everywhere.

Thank you for carrying this beautiful planner!

  5. Great paper and layout 5 Star Review

This cover included, very professional looking planner is slightly narrower than the A6 cafe notebook and fits perfectly in the zipper pocket of my handbag. Comparing it to my Hobo Weeks, which it is replacing, I somehow am able to include more information and that's without teeny tiny writing. I do use F fountain pen nibs or 0.3 to 0.5mm gel pens because a thicker line would be ridiculously inefficient. I'm in love with this paper, which is opaque (no ghosting) and incredibly fountain pen friendly. (Only the Pilot Parallel resulted in bleed-thru.) I record appointments, expenses and short notes quite easily. Very well thought-out planner.
