  1. Perfect grid 5 Star Review

Love it so far. I like the smaller grid spacing both for writing and design drawings. I would probably buy the lined journals if they had a smaller width line spacing such as 5 mm. I look forward to seeing this becoming a staple in the nanami paper line of notebooks. A real winner.

  2. Great Notebook 5 Star Review

I love this notebook! The Tomoe River paper is great of course, and the binding is fantastic for an A5 notebook. It easily lays flat and I can even fold it back when I need to. I will be getting more of these.

  3. Smooth, thin, quality 5 Star Review

The paper is wonderful and plentiful. I paired this with the hard mat and have a great writing experience every time I use it.

  4. Quadrile schmawdrile 5 Star Review

This notebook is expensive. There is that up front. Its a $26 notebook. Now that were past that this notebook quality is exactly what I have been looking for with paper that while thin feels wonderful to write on. The Studio Note is a new offering replacing the "Crossfield" for the time being. The white white of the paper and small griding on the pages give plenty of room to work with and make writing in the vertical or horizontal fashion feel perfectly natural. Any other mass produced notebook will disintegrate if folded back on itself but this one welcomes it and encourages you to use the book how you will. They are that confident in the quality of their product. You get what you pay for here I regret nothing about this purchase.

  5. same great paper, cover is prone to warping 4 Star Review

The Nanami notebooks are all outstanding, unique creations from a paper company with an obsession to detail and workmanship and thoughtful design. This new release, the A5 Studio Note, is a slight notch below all of the other models in that the notebook cover feels cheaper. It’s disappointing. As a result, it has a tendency to warp outward, a property not shared by any of the other A5 notebooks. When fitted with either the Herz or Gfeller leather cover, this isn’t an issue, as the leather covers provide structure and support. Used alone, however, I would imagine this being an issue, at least from an aesthetic standpoint. It still has the incomparable Tomoe 52g paper and the incredible page count.

Note from Dave: In humid areas it's possible that the cover may bend outward in a gentle concave curve, as if the notebook is trying to open itself. You can see a bit of that action in the photos. It can also be gently coaxed back in shape.
