It's not often that we carry whimsical items like this classic "swan" sharpener by Stabilo, but this one we could not resist - it made us smile the moment we laid eyes on it. It has been in production at Stabilo for many decades and old ones can still be found on eBay now and then.

There is just something cheerful about picking up and using it during a hectic day at the office, then setting it down on a desk and glancing at it now and then to admire its economic, simple, graceful lines and bold color. I don't think there's another bird out there that can do a better job of embodying grace and utility in pencil sharpening.
