A POCKET NOTEBOOK THAT PACKS A PUNCH

After many requests to chop our A5 notebooks down to a smaller size, we finally decided it was time to make our own original A6 notebook.

Performance and paper are the same as our B6-S: 384 pages, white TRP, lay-flat construction, 3.7mm grid.

We hope you like this new notebook - and actually, after working with various larger notebooks over the years, such as our Seven Seas A5, L!FE B5, Tsubame, and even our own Cafe B6, my first thought when I opened the shipment was "Awww...how cute!!!". But since this is a serious tool, it's cute in a way that, say, laser watches, explosive pens, and miniature tape recorders are cute. In fact, if James Bond carried a notebook, this is probably the one he would find most useful.

  1. Size is almost perfect. 5 Star Review

Posted by on 23rd Jan 2018

All of the nanami TR journals are fantastic. I really like the new Note size for projects that don't require a ton of space. The journals are lighter and very easy to use. My only wish is that the size was a better fit for the Hobonichi planner covers. I love being able to use my original Seven Seas journals in the Hobo cousin covers for perfect protection and those lovely pen loops. I just wish these would fit in the standard hobo cases!

Note from Dave - Many customers are using our Cafe A6 in their Hobo covers. This is the first I've heard that it doesn't fit one.

  2. The perfect, portable notebook 5 Star Review

Posted by on 15th Jan 2018

My quest for the perfect everyday notebook seemed never-ending. I thought I found it with the A5 Seven Seas, but it’s juuuust too heavy to carry in my bag throughout the day. I tried the B6 but wasn’t as big of a fan of the lined pages. And then the A6 came along, and I fell in love. Perfect size, awesome page count - feels just like my Hobonichi, but is deliciously blank. The 3.7mm grid is not my favorite size, but I can deal - I just write all over the page anyway :) Overall, it’s finally my dream come true.

  3. New favorite A6 5 Star Review

Posted by on 12th Jan 2018

Before now the A6 Apica C.D. notebook has been my must-have notebook. I love the grid, the stitched binding...all the things the Cafe Note does a wee bit better. The Cafe's bordered, dotted grid, binding and blank cover make all the difference. A bordered grid just looks more orderly than one that runs off the page, no matter how straight it is. And, I do like a chunker I can fold almost like a spiral without having to put up with a spiral. There's a generous amount of paper so I can write and write without worrying I'm going to run out of room.

  4. Already a fan 5 Star Review

Posted by on 12th Jan 2018

I was already a fan of the Café Notes B6 (slim) notebooks and the A5 Seven Seas Crossfield, Writer and Standard, just was patiently waiting on an A6 version and I love it, thank you Nanami Paper. Tons of paper packed and bound perfectly for bullet journalling, planning, class notebook, spiritual journal, you name it. Its compact size can host pictures, etc. I honestly share my love for Nanami products with my friends, family and fellow journalist. The graph grid makes this a perfect companion to some of the popular Japanese planners, or a Bible for study groups. Nanami's speedy delivery, packaging to perfection, and great details like a blotter sheet and keepsake box, makes this team really one of the best. Thanks for all of your hard work.

  5. Similar to Stalogy or Hobonichi 5 Star Review

Posted by on 9th Jan 2018

Love the paper. Its so similar to Stalogy - but smaller grid size, which I love and more paper, without noticeable bulk or weight. The cover is a dark burgundy- I thought it was black from the photos, but I actually like the burgundy color better. Shipping was faster than expected.

  6. Love the new A6 Tomoe River notebook 5 Star Review

Posted by on 5th Jan 2018

Love the new size. Works perfectly in current covers or is great as a flexible notebook. I’ve never had any issues with my other Nanami notebooks covers. They are sturdy under normal use. Love the products.

  7. Great size, high page count 5 Star Review

Posted by on 29th Dec 2017

This notebook is so cute! It is small and light enough to put in a purse, and has LOTS of Tomoe River Paper. I love the full grid. The cover has a nice feel to it, and seems pretty sturdy. Also, the price is amazing. You really can't go wrong with this notebook. I will definitely be ordering more of these. One can never have too many notebooks on stand-by. ;) I only wish this was available *before* I ordered the Hobonichi Techo.

  8. Exactly what I was looking for: An A6 TRP notebook 5 Star Review

Posted by on 20th Dec 2017

I absolutely love the A6 Tomoe River Paper notebook. I have been looking for this exact item for a while. Nanami Paper delivers. Thank you so much for making this product. I will be purchasing many more.

  9. The perfect A6 notebook 5 Star Review

Posted by on 20th Dec 2017

I love that this notebook is smaller than the A5, but it does not skimp on the page count (thanks Dave, I hate when manufacturers do that!). The grid is nice and clean and the paper is as great as ever. The only thing I don't love about it is the paper cover as it seems like it would wither away if it weren't covered (especially since you will be using this for awhile considering the large page count). It would have been nice if it had the more durable buckram cover that the others have, but like I said this problem is fixed with the cheap notebook cover. I'm so glad Nanami finally makes this fully loaded A6 size. It's like the master of small notebooks. I'll need to order more when the store re-opens.

Note from Dave: While not on the level of library buckram, the cover is still very high quality. I examined many samples before choosing this one. It is coated and will last a long time. To keep the edges in good condition, I suggest keeping it covered with the dust jacket (reverse it if you like) or, as you state, inserting the book into a cover.
