A POCKET NOTEBOOK THAT PACKS A PUNCH
After many requests to chop our A5 notebooks down to a smaller size, we finally decided it was time to make our own original A6 notebook.
Performance and paper are the same as our B6-S: 384 pages, white TRP, lay-flat construction, 3.7mm grid.
We hope you like this new notebook - and actually, after working with various larger notebooks over the years, such as our Seven Seas A5, L!FE B5, Tsubame, and even our own Cafe B6, my first thought when I opened the shipment was "Awww...how cute!!!". But since this is a serious tool, it's cute in a way that, say, laser watches, explosive pens, and miniature tape recorders are cute. In fact, if James Bond carried a notebook, this is probably the one he would find most useful.

Wow what a superbly designed and made notebook in my favorite A6 size. Plenty of pages and since I write small I love the 3.7mm grid (would love to have 3.7mm lines but this is great too) works superbly with my Parker Jotter pens with all kinds of refills gel, ballpoint and Schmidt easy flow 9000 which is a hybrid refill (ballpoint and gel or liquid). The dust jacket is superb in nice creamy color and has plasticky tough feel to it. Would love to have at least one more of these in different colors OR produce different color dust jacket (but same current design) which can be placed on this current notebook (maybe able to buy without jacket so we choose color of jacket...hmmm maybe that is asking for too much as probably easier to just make the jacket in different color included with notebook haha anyway 5 stars notebook and I've tried them all

Bought two (one as spare) and the kip cover (see separate review on cover). Love the size and think I've found my new best friend! Well done Nanami. Only wish you were in UK (shipping and customs charges painful).I love my A5 with Herz cover and I'm sure the A6 combination will be just as satisfying.

First of all, thank you for making this notebook!
I've been searching/praying for a 3.7mm-4.0mm grid notebook to come into my life! I'm coming from the Hobonichi planning world, using an I've been using a A5 Cousin. However its not something i can easily carry around in my pocket everyday. Although there's an A6 planner, it doesn't have the weekly layout spreads and the weekly inserts/memo book are just ridiculous. Here's where the Cafe note A6 comes in. Now i can design my OWN dream layouts - with weeklies! Also, its small enough to fit in my cargo pockets. Full grid is just awesome, a planner's dream come true. No real downsides, but just a couple suggestions....
1. Possibly a "Half" version - 240pgs(?)
2. Maybe a saddle-stitched version (3.5"x 5.5") with the 3.7mm- 4.0mm Grid, lined or Dotted options? Ahhhh the possibilities....

This little A6 notebook is so well made and you can't beat that Tomoe River paper! Love the small grid and generous page content. I also appreciate the plain border around the pages. The grid is a dotted, light grey that is really easy on the eyes and still easily visible (unlike A6 Stalogy). Binding is sturdy, and the book easily lies perfectly flat. It is just a hair thicker than the Hobo Techo, in case you were wondering, but otherwise all measurements are the same. Can't wait to finish this one so I can get another one!

I was hesitant to get this at first because I usually prefer a blank layout instead of a grid one. However, I am very happy I got this. It arrived beautifully, impeccably packaged - same as all my other previous orders - and is so very well-made I can hardly stop leafing through it. The grid layout is subtle and minute, and disappears under ink. The notebook is delightfully chunky, and the cover is a beautiful burgundy. I will use it with a plastic cover. Can't wait to fill out the pages! Thanks for a wonderful product and fantastic customer service! It can take some time to ship to Europe and I usually end up paying small import duty fees, but it's all worth it.

I have never found a better A6 notebook (gridded or otherwise). The café notebook has excellent paper for a fountain pen, a lot of pages, very solid binding, and an aesthetically pleasing appearance.

I'm thoroughly impressed with this notebook. The construction of the cover and binding look and feel sturdy (as usual) and the grid layout is crisp. I've not use a grid smaller than 5mm before so this 3.7mm grid was a little smaller than I was comfortable with. That said my pilot m and f nibs both write great on this beautiful paper.

I used A5 and A6 Leuchtturm1917 notebooks for years as bullet journals and diaries. I recently purchased an Hobonichi Techo Planner for the first time and fell in love with the Tomoe River paper. I missed the flexibility of a DIY planner, but I couldn't go back to the paper in the Leuchtturms... I'd been spoiled!
The Cafe Note is a perfect, PERFECT notebook for those who love the size and writing experience in A6 Hobonichi planners and are looking for something blank to start with. Also, a massive bonus is that the grid size (3.7mm) is the same as the Hobonichi Techo Original (Japanese) and Cousin, so all the Hobonichi accessories like the stencils and stickers work beautifully with this notebook! It's so satisfying for the task checkboxes on the schedule stencil to line up perfectly with the grid.
The notebook also works great in Hobonichi A6 planner covers (it's nearly the exact same thickness), as well as in Kokuyo Systemic A6 Notebook Covers (though you will not be able to fit other notebooks in with it at the same time).
Another detail I love is that the grid doesn't go from edge to edge. It looks much more polished than grids or dot grids that fill the page and often don't line up with the edges of the paper.
I'll be stocking up on this notebook because I never want to run the risk of them being discontinued and running out. ^_^

I'm glad that the Nanami TR paper notebooks are now available in so many choices. I too like the bordered grid which gives it a smart look and the page count.
What I'm not so keen on is the brown colour of the cover. I thought it was black when I bought it!
Even though it is such a little thing, I prefer the grid of the B6 slim to this one. That one has a dot in each corner of the square whereas the A6 grid has a space, giving the boxes a more rounded fuzzy look and as though there isn't quite as much space.
Thanks Dave for continuing to develop this line!
