A POCKET NOTEBOOK THAT PACKS A PUNCH
After many requests to chop our A5 notebooks down to a smaller size, we finally decided it was time to make our own original A6 notebook.
Performance and paper are the same as our B6-S: 384 pages, white TRP, lay-flat construction, 3.7mm grid.
We hope you like this new notebook - and actually, after working with various larger notebooks over the years, such as our Seven Seas A5, L!FE B5, Tsubame, and even our own Cafe B6, my first thought when I opened the shipment was "Awww...how cute!!!". But since this is a serious tool, it's cute in a way that, say, laser watches, explosive pens, and miniature tape recorders are cute. In fact, if James Bond carried a notebook, this is probably the one he would find most useful.

These Cafe Note books are amazing. The quality of the notebook, paired with the infamous Tomoe River Paper, makes for a durable, portable, perfect notebook.

This is the first time I have ordered the a6 cafe note. I have used the a5 and the b6 slim notebooks in the past. They have lots of pages, they never fall apart, fountain pens glide across the paper without bleed through. I’m excited to use the a6 as a bullet journal.

I ordered this notebook quickly as I have purchased it in the past. I did not read that the pages had been decreased from 420 to 384. Very disappointed in that the notebook will now not work for the application I was buying it for. I am sure I will use the notebook for something else but I will not be purchasing it again in the future.
Note from nanamipaper.com:
First/Second edition page count was actually 480. Third edition is 384. This is stated in the description as well as the product's title: Cafe Note A6 3rd Ed. 384 Pgs NEW TRP

Absolutely love this notebook!! This is my third one and I will continue to use only this notebook for my everyday planning needs as long as they make them. The fewer pages with this version so not bother me, there are still plenty of amazing pages for my needs.

I have been using TR paper for ten years. I was curious about the quality of the new version and ordered a small notebook. Disappointment is an understatement. The new TR is so rough it catches my needlepoint nibs. Inks that showed sheen on the old paper are dull on the new. Worse, ink that retains a fine line on the old paper spreads on the new, rendering my needlepoint lines into medium weight. As my handwriting is very small, it becomes unreadable.
This paper reminds me of Stalogy paper, and not in a good way.
I am switching to Cosmo Air Light paper for journaling after I exhaust my fortunately copious supply of old stock.

I was very skeptical trying this out. Normally I don’t like grid but I wanted a notebook that was smaller then my seven seas that I could use as my daily check list/work notes and I was curious about the new TR paper so I took a leap of faith. All I gotta say is: WOOOOOOOOOOW!!!!! This little book is awesome. Good job Dave at creating this little gem!!! It is perfect to fit in my cargo pocket the grids actually help me out especially since I write small already I can doodle on it with a variety of pens if I get bored. I tried my super wet fountain pens to my regular ball points for at work. I even threw a little watercolor on it (the new paper handles it better then the old) in all reality I don’t mind the new TR paper at all. There is some slight differences, some of my wetter inks/broader nibs wanted to feather so I’m guessing this paper is probably more internally sized then externally like the old paper and it was noted in the description and pictures so I was prepared for it to happen. The pages are a slight difference in paper feel/thickness when turning the page but the paper is still very smooth. Oddly enough the watercolor sketch I did didn’t bleed at all so it may be a reaction to a lubricant in the Fountain pen inks I have that caused the feathering reaction. Noodlers is notoriously pigmented/lubricated so I may try adding some water to see if the feathering reaction goes away. Overall this is a Fantastic little book that I look forward to filling. I may have to purchase a few more just to have on hand!!!

Big fan of Tomoe River, both 52gsm and 62gsm. I have been using them for a long while now. Broke my heart when I heard news that the paper formula was changing. Well, just got trying itI wrote enough on it to say that its a very good paper, but different from the original. Colors are very vibrant, gosting is less than with the old Tomoe paper and no feathering. Different that it has feed back and its noisy. Both not in a bad way, but not the same. I like it! Do I like it better or worst? Can't answer that yet!

I first became interested in the A6 Cafe Note a year ago, at about the time the previous version went out of stock. I continued to check at intervals and decided to purchase one when I learned they were back, and with the new TRP. I had already planned on using a Hobonichi A6 Day-Free + a Hobonichi plain A6 notebook for 2021, while continuing to use an A5 with 68 gsm TRP for long-form journaling.
I was surprised and very pleased by the quality of the A6 Cafe Notes notebook. The cover is a beautiful deep red and has a faux-leather feel. The pages inside seem to be handling my pen tests better than the Hobonichi paper, although I expected them to be similar. I also like the slim margins around the grid on each page. I'll be ordering more!

I’m pairing the Nanami A6 with a hobo day free and it works great. Of course the Nanami is great on its own. I like the portability, it takes all my pens. So glad I found it.

I love these little A6 Cafe Note books! The Tomoe River Paper is a little different in these but not enough to dissuade a purchase. They are perfect for a small bullet journal or common place book with enough pages still to last a whole year. Perfect pocket or purse size. I have been waiting FOREVER for these to come back into stock and they finally have. Thank you, Nanami Paper!!
