A POCKET NOTEBOOK THAT PACKS A PUNCH
After many requests to chop our A5 notebooks down to a smaller size, we finally decided it was time to make our own original A6 notebook.
Performance and paper are the same as our B6-S: 384 pages, white TRP, lay-flat construction, 3.7mm grid.
We hope you like this new notebook - and actually, after working with various larger notebooks over the years, such as our Seven Seas A5, L!FE B5, Tsubame, and even our own Cafe B6, my first thought when I opened the shipment was "Awww...how cute!!!". But since this is a serious tool, it's cute in a way that, say, laser watches, explosive pens, and miniature tape recorders are cute. In fact, if James Bond carried a notebook, this is probably the one he would find most useful.

Nothing bad to say really except I have to gave it 1 star less for reduction in pages compared to previous version. I want to give it 2 stars less for that reason but since the notebook is nice I can't do it so 4 it is. I use these at work a lot so 480 pages (even more would be fine by me) is much better than 384. I hope next batch goes back to 480 pages.

I love this notebook. I have one of the 480 page books left but actually prefer the new TRP and the smaller page count as they fit in my leather covers better. I also love A6 size because I have been know to cut it down to field notes size and find there isn’t that much waste.

I have purchased the A5 and B6 from Nanami on several occasions over the years. I ordered the A6 for the first time and I have to say I love this size. The paper is wonderful, as was expected. I use a ballpoint pen and love how the paper crinkles up and "talks" to me when I open up the notebook to make a new entry. I'm very happy with my purchase and the speedy delivery!

A notebook with ALOT of Smooth Japanese tomoe river paper in a yarn bound Book, that's what this is. I Highly recommend it. The tomoe river notebook on other sites have alot less pages and is at least twice the price. And guys this book is legit, it truly is made in japan, I recognize the smell of new pokemon card anywhere and the smell itself takes me back to when I was a kid back in the 90's. The smoothness of the paper, the superb feel of the cover, and it has an Awesome scent. The ink never bleeds through and it doesn't feather?!

I have this in the b6 slim size. I greatly enjoy the paper. It’s fountain pen friendly, and I love writing and drawing on it. Incredibly priced for the amount of pages you get.

Great Pocket notebook. Love the grid making me write smaller and neater.

I love the size of this little notebook, and it's the perfect size to try out the updated Tomoe River Paper. The dust jacket it comes with is very nice; it feels like it will be very durable and feels like it's treated to have some water resistance. I agree almost completely with the description of the differences listed in the product description.
The new paper does feel thicker and stiffer, but it's very slight. It's still the thinnest paper I use.
There's definitely more texture to the surface of the page that does seem to cut down on any sheen an ink may have. I haven't used it extensively and with super sheen-y inks, but I tested one ink that did sheen a good amount less than I would expect from the old TRP.
As for line definition, again I haven't tested very extensively but from the little I've observed, I'm not seeing a huge difference. I tested a couple of italic ground fountain pen nibs, and the edges of the lines look great; it might be a different story with a standard ground thicker nib though.
Performance with bleed through and ghosting is similar. Zero bleed through, and a good amount of ghosting depending on the color/saturation of the ink you're using, but less ghosting than the old paper.
Overall I'm a little sad about the reduction in sheen, and I know that's a trait that a lot of people loved about TRP, but it's still a great paper in a great little notebook.

If you're a fan of the Hobonichi Techo or just A6 notebooks and Tomoe River paper in general, this notebooks IS IT. After getting tired of my father taking from my own personal stash, I wanted to gift him something for Christmas. His requirements are that it's A6, has fountain pen-friendly paper and that it fits in his pocket and is thick, with lots of writing space. Looking at how closely this resembled the Hobonichi Techo and the fact that it was without dates, I went for it and have absolutely no regrets. My father loved it... and I had to buy one for me too! Thank you, Nanami!
